The Economics students of Classes 11 and 9 had the privilege of attending an hour long, informative and entertaining seminar organised by the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of West Bengal, on 4th of February 2016. We were made aware of Consumer Rights and their protection.

Rangotsav 2014
St. Xavier's Collegiate School in association with TTIS presented Rangotsav'14 - The festival of colours. 'Rangotsav', an interschool Hindi Cultural Fest for classes 11 and 12 was conducted in our national language - 'Hindi'. In Sanmarg, Chapte Chapte and Young Metro, this fest was highly appreciated. Rangotsav is all about promoting our national language. The fest was well organized and the participants had an awesome time. It was also a platform for the reunion of Hindi teachers in the city.

The higher we get the farther we see. One cannot see past a mountain from its base, but once climbed it will provide the perch for new and wonderful views. Vision is at its most insightful when great obstacles have been conquered. Such was the vision when Xaverians landed in Kunming, China on the 17th of May, 2013.

Xavier's to Tagore : Muktapushpa
It is a matter of pride that St. Xavier's Collegiate School is the first school in India to release a CD titled, St. Xavier's to Tagore: Muktapushpa, devoted to Kavi Guru Rabindranath Tagore in collaboration with HMV Sa Re Ga Ma. This auspicious occasion was graced by Prof. Krishna Bose as Chief Guest. Other eminent dignitaries who present were present are Rev. Fr. Rev. Fr. George Ponodath, S.J. (Rector), Rev. Fr. K.K. Devasy (Principal), Rev. Fr. Sebastian James (Vice Principal), Honorary Secretary (ALSOC) Mr. Noomi Mehta and Mr. Karim (Chief Content Manager, Sa Re Ga Ma).

Activities - Events 2012-2013
St. Xavier's Collegiate School, Kolkata organized the first ever Inter Jesuit Schools Football Tournament on 11th and 12th August 2012. Six Jesuit Schools participated in the tournament. The final was played between St. Lawrence High School and St. Xavier's School, Burdwan. St. Lawrence High School were the champions. The Inter-Schools Elocution and Extempore Speech Contest was held at Loyola School was held at Loyola School, Jamshedpur on the 1st of September, 2012.

Activities - Primary Section 2012-2013
In the month of July 2012, The Blue & White Inter Junior School Football Tournament was held at St. Xavier's Primary School grounds as it celebrated its 11th year. This year saw eight renowned schools participating in a league - cum - knock out tournament. The finals were played between St. Thomas School (Kidderpore) and St. Xavier's Collegiate School with St. Thomas School emerging as winners. Both teams were awarded with trophies and certificates.

The Abbas Amerjee Debate 2012
The annual Abbas Amerjee Memorial Debate, organised in memory of a Xaverian, the late Abbas Amerjee, who was a keen debater and an excellent student, was organised by X-CALBIRE, the Debate Society of St. Xavier's Collegiate School, on 9th November 2012. Gratitude goes to our distinguished judging panel (Mr. R. Raman, Mr. N. Ritchie and Mr. S.Mitra), our Principal, Fr. B.Thomas SJ and our Vice-Principals Fr. B.D Santos and Fr. P. Arockiam.

Student Exchange Programme with Shida Fuzhong (Affiliated High School of Yunnan Normal University), Kunming, China 2012
To strengthen Indo-China bilateral ties, leaders of both nations - President Hu Jingtao and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met and declared year 2012, a year of Indo-China friendship and cooperation. Both leaders have unveiled initiatives to boost cooperation and mutual understanding. St. Xavier's Collegiate School, Kolkata, India and Shida Fuzhong High School, Kunming China have also contributed in strengthening and cementing this bond of friendship between the two countries. Seventeenth November, two thousand and twelve at eleven forty twelve Chinese delegates disembarked from flight China Eastern in their maiden visit to India.

Activities - Primary Section - Social Service
We, at St. Xavier's Collegiate School (Primary Section), Kolkata, in our own small way encourage the students to think and feel for the people around them. We have a group of eight responsible students to help out in the various activities of the Social Service Action Group.
Our attempt in helping our less fortunate brothers and sisters, have really been a learning experience for the young hearts & minds of the Primary Section.

India-China Student Exchange Program with Shida Fuzhong (Affiliated High School of Yunnan Normal University) Kunming, China 2011
For the past 151 years St. Xavier’s Collegiate School has been the torch bearer in the field of education – transforming students into persons of competence, conscience, compassion, character and faith, in association with teachers and parents, for building a better nation. Today, as we are confronted with a rapidly changing social and cultural environment, our focus, as always, is to mould students without compromising on the values of life.

Industrial Visit / DST Internship Science Camp
On 9th April, twenty nine students of Class 9A accompanied by their teachers Ms. Sriporna Chakraborti, Ms. Sudha Jaiswal, Ms. Kakoli Dutta and Ms. Joeeta Basu along with the ALSOC members Mr. Anupam Saha and Mr. Adarsh Kanoria visited the Keventer’s factory at Barasat to witness first-hand the manufacturing and packaging of various agro-based products like Frooti, Appyfizz, Bailey mineral water, Hippo chips etc. The boys enjoyed themselves to a great extent.

Understanding Nasa
On December 14, 2011, Mr. Joydeep Mukherjee, Director, NASA Florida Space Grant Consortium and Interim Director, Florida Space Institute came to St. Xavier's Collegiate School to talk to the students about the space shuttles that NASA had sent to space - their success and disasters. Dr. Mukherjee is a close friend of Mr. Mihir Nundy, a Xaverian, who has been kind enough to introduce Dr. Mukherjee to the students. Dr. Mukherjee also spoke of the detailed planning and technology.

Today, on the 3rd of February, we have gathered here to bid farewell to this special group of young men, who after spending 12 years here, are waiting with indignation and anxiety, to leave the portals of this institution and step into a new world.

Activities - Primary Section 2011-2012
The academic year 2011 - 12 saw the reappearance of the House System in the Primary Department. This time there was a small difference. The House System encompassed the entire Junior Section, that is, from Preparatory to Class Five. The boys were obviously excited and went through the stages of election and in due course the House Representatives were elected from all levels. Along with the House System came a lot of activities and an entire week devoted to the same.
